Know About Me

Hello! My name is Minahil Iqbal and I am the founder of Today’s Truths. My parents immigrated from Pakistan years before I was born, and I’m very grateful for the education that I was able to receive in the United States. My high school offers a women’s studies course, which I took in my junior year. This course educated me on the history of feminism in America and the many feminists in American history, Sojourner Truth being one of them. I noticed that Truth advocated for women of color back then, and the problems she spoke about are prevalent in my home country, Pakistan, today.

Women in Pakistan do not have the ability to become financially independent with ease and often lack higher education. More often than not, they can not pursue careers, and marry quickly in hopes of having a sustainable life. Truth spoke about this issue that was affecting women in the 1910s, but today in the 2020s this is a still widespread problem. Women around the globe are struggling, this is when I decided to find Today’s Truths and support women in my culture by establishing them as businesswomen. My current focus is Pakistan as I feel deeply connected to the people, but there are hopes of expanding our trade in other parts of Asia. Together, I hope to inspire and assist as many women as possible with their trade.
